H1N1 Influenza - North Carolina Health Department News

AAP Resources for Managing H1N1 Flu
The American Academy of Pediatrics is offering new resources to its members on H1N1 influenza (swine influenza), including guidance on incorporating into practice the latest information and recommendations from the CDC and other agencies on case definition, diagnostic testing, infection control, advice for parents, caregivers, schools and child care programs, and treatment protocols. New recommendations from the CDC on school closure and antiviral medications, updated May 6 and 7, are available. Tip sheets will be available to help answer frequently-asked questions for physicians and parents. The AAP also recommends that its members continue to monitor the CDC swine influenza Web site for updated information and recommendations, as well as follow guidance from their local and state public health authorities.

September 2007 - MSN News Special - Reach Out & Read

August 2007 -

We are proud to announce that our practice has been selected to

become an official Reach Out and Read site . Reach Out and Read (ROR) makes literacy promotion a standard part of pediatric primary care, so that children grow up with books and a love of reading. With this program we are able to provide books to children at their yearly check-ups from 1 to 5 years. Please consider assisting us in Reaching Out to the children of Carteret County by making a financial contribution to our ROR fund. If you would like to make a donation please contact our office manager.
